196412月出生于江苏省启东市,1986年在南京大学获理学学士学位,分别于1989年和1997年在中国科学院植物研究所获硕士和博士学位。19945月至19952月在美国Colorado State University进行访问研究。现任植被与环境变化国家重点实验室副主任,中国科学院植物研究所东乌珠穆沁草原生态系统管理研究站站长,中国科学院大学教授。迄今发表论著110余篇(部),SCI收录刊物论文50余篇。已培养硕士和博士9名;正在指导博士生和硕士生3名。
